Westside Regional Center
Workforce History:
Westside Regional Center (WRC) is located in Culver City, but their service area is the 11 South Bay cities. WRC was established to provide services to persons with developmental disabilities living in the South Bay.
Workforce Challenge:
Westside Regional Center reached out to the South Bay One –Stop Business and Career Center-Inglewood to seek assistance with finding qualified candidates for their open positions. Following a conversation with the One-Stop Center Staff about the variety of services available to employers. WRC became interested in working with the youth programs to provide opportunities and training to youth serviced by the SBWIB.
Outcomes & Benefits:
As a result of the partnership and utilization of the Inglewood One-Stop Center’s services several south bay residents have obtained full time positions in a variety of clinical and non-clinical positions. WRC is also working with the youth program staff at the One-Stop Center to provide training and mentorship opportunities for youth. WRC has also been an active participant in youth career fairs and onsite recruitments sponsored by the SBWIB.
